Giancarlo Scalia's compostition Fantaras (2009) will be premiered at the second CéCo season concert by the pianist Jeanne-Amièle D.S. Lusignan.

Semaine italienne de Montreal
Giancarlo Scalia will be performing his compostition Rhapsody with the Orchestre d'Harmonie Leonardo da Vinci under the direction of Claude Ledoux as part of the 2009 edition of the Semaine italienne de Montreal festival.

Premiere of Rhapsody
Giancarlo Scalia's composition Rhapsody for piano and orchestra, commissioned in 2008 by l'Orchestre d'Harmonie Leonardo da Vinci, will be premiered the 13th of June 2009 by the OHLDV under the direction of Claude Ledoux and with Giancarlo Scalia as piano soloist.

Premiere of Aria for Strings
Giancarlo Scalia's composition Aria for Strings, commissioned in 2008, will be premiered the 2nd of December 2008 by the Ecole de Musique Vincent d'Indy string orchestra, under the direction of Sven Meier.

Premiere of Voler, pero no podar
The short film Voler, pero no podar, directed by Raimundo Morte and scored by Giancarlo Scalia, will have it's first Montreal screening on September 24th. The premiere will be held on the 9th and 10th of October in Barcelona as part of the 2008 Liber Foire Internacional del Libro.
